Quinte Health Care hospitals continue rolling out their new health care model.
It is called the Inter-professional Patient Care Team.
Instead of a nurse having four or five patients, a RN will be in charge of more than a dozen patients and receive assistance from a RPN and a Personal Support Worker.
Chief Nursing Officer Kim Stephens-Woods says there is a staggered approach to the roll out.
Each staff member will then do tasks appropriate to their training.
