PK Subban
Three more N-H-L series could come to a close this evening. The Montreal Canadiens will be looking to stave off elimination once again as they host Washington. The Habs have called up former Bulls star PK Subban for tonight’s game…they trail the Caps 3-2. Subban had 18 goals and 35 assists and was plus-46 with Hamilton of the American Hockey League this season, and had a pair of assists in two NHL games with Montreal. The 20-year-old defenceman was drafted 43rd overall by the Canadiens in 2007. Montreal is missing defencemen Jaroslav Spacek and Paul Mara to illness or injury and used the last call-up available to them to bring in Subban. He helped the Hamilton Bulldogs eliminate the Mantoba Moose with a 3-2 overtime win on Sunday night in the first round of the AHL playoffs. He led the Bulldogs with nine points in six playoff games. The six-foot, 202-pound Subban also helped Canada to gold medals at the 2008 and 2009 world junior championships.
Elsewhere, Chicago can knock out Nashville while Boston looks to oust Buffalo. The Hawks and Bruins are up 3-2.
