Brighton council will see a new twist to the stormwater controversy swirling around a proposed new housing development in town at its meeting Tuesday night.
The proposed 45 home development, which would be called Lakeside Landing, received draft plan of approval in 2008, and is owned by Mark Walas, who is now the Mayor of Brighton.
Nearby homeowners have complained to council that the dumping of fill on the property has caused stormwater to run off and pond on their properties.
Tuesday night, council will see a staff report that says that the ponding is actually occurring on the Lakeside Landing property, and that stormwater is actually running off of the homeowners’ properties onto Lakeside Landing.
The report further states that some homeowners are using Lakeside Landing property for their own purposes.
Brighton council meets at 6:30 Tuesday night.
