Residents in Centre Hastings should expect an annual three percent increase in water rates over the next six years, after the municipal Water Financial Plan was approved last night.
Mayor Tom Deline tells Quinte News, the combined water/sewer rate now is about 70 dollars a month, which is much less than what some people are paying elsewhere.
Deline says money from the increase will go towards finding a second well, to support the current water supply.
He says Centre Hastings may also incur some debt during that process, which is expected to take three to four years.
The full report should be available for you to see on the Centre Hastings website, we’ve got that link at quintenews.com.
