Northumberland OPP have taken two high-speed drivers off the road after excessive speeding stops led to impaired driving charges.
Officers clocked one motorist doing 141 kilometers per hour on County Road 22 in Alnwick Haldimand Township, and caught another travelling at 161 on Highway 401.
As a result, 39-year-old Alim Baytekin of Warkworth and 32-year-old Christopher Watson of Cobourg are facing stunt and impaired driving charges.
Police say both men immediately received automatic 90-day license suspensions and had their vehicles impounded for seven days.
Local police continue to remind motorists to arrange a safe ride home before consuming alcohol or drugs.
