A driver has been arrested in Prince Edward County, after a single vehicle accident.
On Thursday, just before midnight, officers from Prince Edward County OPP responded to calls for a vehicle in the ditch along Highway 4. Officers arrived at the scene and began an investigation. As a result of the investigation, one person was arrested and taken to the detachment for further testing.
D’Andrej Jamal Felix, a 25 year old from Pontypool, has been charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol over 80.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton. In addition to the criminal charges, the accused received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and, their vehicle was impounded for seven days.
Police are reminding residents to call 911 if they see someone they suspect is driving impaired.
