Countless new relationships and life-decisions are made over a hot cup of coffee and Hastings County will be hosting an event for seniors featuring a coffee social with a soft focus on eventually improving senior’s lives.
Seniors facing housing issues will be invited to the event, to be known as “Coffee Mates”, and encouraged to get to know each other.
Hastings County staff hope that people will press for more of the coffee get-togethers afterward and develop relationships leading to agreements to share housing options with those they’ve met at Coffee Mates.
County staff will host the event and be available to provide information on housing but there will be no pressure placed on attendees for quick decisions.
