A 42-year-old woman has been charged after police intervened in an assault in Belleville’s east end Thursday morning.
A female allegedly began following and yelling at another woman walking in the area.
The victim contacted police just after 8:30 and while speaking with dispatch, the suspect threatened her and then punched and choked her.
Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect actively assaulting the victim and quickly placed her under arrest.
A Belleville woman of no fixed address was arrested and charged with:
· Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
· Assault causing bodily harm – choke
· Assault
· Fail to comply with probation order x4
She was held for a bail hearing.
