A traffic accident involving a pickup truck has revealed a stolen vehicle.
On Sunday, at approximately 8:15 p.m., Northumberland OPP officers responded to the scene of a single-vehicle collision involving a pick-up truck on Concession Road 13 East in the Municipality of Trent Hills. The caller reported that two occupants fled the scene on foot following the collision.
The vehicle struck a hydro pole, causing wires to come down. A second unrelated vehicle subsequently became involved after colliding with the downed wires. Firefighters were called in to assist.
A police investigation determined that the truck had been reported stolen from the Durham region in 2021, and was displaying license plates registered to a different vehicle at the time of the accident. The search for the suspects who fled was concluded at 10:30, with no suspects found.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPP.
