Belleville police found a hidden package that turned out to be a geocache while investigating a possible drug stash near a Belleville business.
Police responded to the call on Thursday at 2:45 p.m. after receiving reports of an older man hiding a small box under a pole near a business on Bell Blvd. The caller suspected that the package contained drugs.
Police found the package, and determined that it was a geocaching stash and did not contain drugs. Geocaching is a recreational hobby where participants locate and log hidden containers placed in specific locations.
After police finished their investigation, the package was disposed of.
