One person is reported dead after their canoe capsized on Cross Lake.
Bancroft OPP responded to a marine distress call on Monday at 1:30 p.m. Whitney Paramedic Services, Renfrew County Paramedic Services, OPP Aviation Services, local citizens and officers all assisted in the search for the individual.
With the assistance from members of the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, the individual was located and pronounced deceased.
The deceased has been identified as a 17-year-old man from Mariposa Township. A postmortem will be conducted.
