Quinte West OPP have charged a driver with impaired driving following a traffic stop.
On Friday at approximately 2:45 p.m., Quinte West OPP conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on Highway 2, leading to an investigation where an ASD was used, resulting in the arrest of the driver for being impaired.
The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, charges were laid.
John Turner, 65 years old, from Quinte West, was charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Possess unmarked cigarettes
- Litter highway
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on September 3.
Additionally, his vehicle was impounded for seven days, and suspended for 90 days.
