A Belleville man faces charges after a reported theft from a business on Bell Boulevard.
In a release, police say it was reported that on July 4, 2026, an unknown male entered the store and requested a pellet gun from a locked cabinet.
After the employee provided the item, police say the male then left the area of staff supervision and was seen on video concealing the pellet gun in his clothing and exiting the store without paying.
Through investigation, officers identified the suspect and learned he was subject to multiple prohibition orders barring him from possessing firearms.
On Sunday, at 4:17 p.m., Belleville police spotted the male suspect walking in the area of Front Street.
As a result, a 27-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with:
- Theft under $5000
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order x9.
He was held for a bail hearing.
