Quinte West OPP have laid charges following a complaint of an individual using fake identification to buy a vehicle.
On June 17, 2026 at approximately 2 p.m., members of Quinte West OPP and the Quinte West OPP Crime Unit, arrested an individual who was attempting to use a fake driver’s licence to buy a new truck.
The dealership had been contacted on June 15, 2026 by an individual wishing to buy and finance a new Ford F150 Platinum Edition. Upon examination of the identification, concerns were raised about its authenticity. After setting up an appointment with the individual to purchase the vehicle, the dealership reached out to the Quinte West OPP who intervened and arrested the suspect.
Sebastien Dube, 51 years old from Montreal-Nord, has been charged with the following offences:
- Personation with intent
- Use, deals, acts on forged document
- Fraud over $5000
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
