Earlier this spring, members of the Kingston Police Street Crime Unit initiated an investigation into individuals believed to be involved in the trafficking of fentanyl within the City of Kingston.
As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was obtained under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) for a residence located on Montreal Street.
The Emergency Response Unit executed the warrant on Thursday taking two occupants into custody.
A subsequent search of the residence resulted in the seizure of fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine, a digital scale, packaging materials, and a quantity of cash believed to be proceeds of crime.
Investigators also located and seized a conducted energy weapon and replica firearms.
A 34-year-old individual and a 38-year-old individual have each been charged with the following offences:
· Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (three counts, including fentanyl and crystal methamphetamine)
· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
· Weapons-related offences
The accused were held for a bail hearing and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice.
