Quinte West’s new Housing Community Improvement Plan (CIP) is now accepting applications from local investors, home owners and developers for the Housing CIP program’s spring intake.
The city’s 2026 Housing CIP offers a range of potential financial incentives to support the creation of more affordable housing options in Quinte West.
The five CIP programs help offset key development costs such as property taxes, development charges, and planning and building permit fees. They also support homeowners in building additional dwelling units and provide surplus city-owned land at below-market value to non-profit developers for projects that increase the supply of affordable housing in Quinte West.
The Housing CIP is designed to encourage the development of new rental housing opportunities, additional dwelling units and other affordable housing projects that will help meet local housing needs.
“The Housing Community Improvement Plan is a new opportunity for homeowners, developers and investors to support the city’s efforts to create a stronger, more livable community,” says Brian Jardine, Director of Planning and Development Services.
Housing CIP funding applications for 2026 will be accepted during two application periods:
- Spring (April 13 – May 25)
- Fall – More details coming soon.
Local homeowners, investors and developers interested in investing in their house or property are encouraged to apply to the 2026 CIP program online. Applications for the spring intake close on Monday, May 25, 2026.
