Belleville City Council will look at a recommendation to amend the 2026 Capital Budget to allow for road resurfacing work of Phillipston Road.
In a report to council, it states that the road has “deteriorated to an extremely poor state of repair” and is currently performing below acceptable service levels laid out by the city of Belleville’s Asset Management Plan and Roads Needs Study.
Staff are recommending that the city proceeds with resurfacing Phillipston Road to address the roadway’s immediate deterioration.
In order to accommodate the resurfacing, a recommendation has been put forward to amend the Road Resurfacing portion of the 2026 Capital Budget up to $1,345,000.
Council will discuss the recommendation at its meeting on Monday at Council Chambers in Belleville City Hall at 4 p.m.
