A man has been sentenced on intimate partner violence charges.
On March 27, after guilty pleas, Justice Jeffery Richardson sentenced Ogene Olimi to a six-year jail sentence on the following charges:
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Assault by choking
- Uttering threats to cause death
- Forcible confinement
- Fail to comply with probation
He was given credit for 15 months of time spent in pre-trial custody.
Olimi was also ordered to give a sample of his DNA, was prevented from having weapons for life and was banned from communicating with the victim while in jail.
