A motorist was charged with impaired driving after a vehicle struck a hydro pole in Belleville late Wednesday.
Belleville police responded to reports of a suspected impaired driver in the city’s west end where a vehicle allegedly struck other cars before colliding with a pole.
Officers located the suspect vehicle which was off the roadway as it struck a hydro pole.
Officers spoke with the female driver and observed signs of impairment. While conducting further investigation, the female also caused damage to a BPS instrument.
As a result, Lisa Knightly, a 45-year-old Belleville woman, was arrested and charged with:

Operation while impaired – alcohol

Failure or refusal to comply with demand

Mischief – renders property inoperative x2
She was released on an undertaking with a scheduled court date in May,
