Quinte West is not considering extensions for redevelopment credits on a pair of major housing developments
During Wednesday’s council meeting, councillors reviewed a pair of requests from developers to extend deadlines to submit for building permits, before development charges are set to increase in July.
The developments impacted are at 47 Stella Crescent and 2 Forth Avenue in Trenton. In both cases, extensions were requested because developers claimed higher rates would impact the feasibility of the projects.
Council briefly considered the requests, and councillor Jim Alyea attempted to put forward a motion to have staff look into providing a potential extension, however he was unable to get a seconder.
Both requests were received by council, with no action taken.
