Lennox and Addington OPP were asking the public in the area of Country Club Dr. and Abbey Dawn Dr. in Bath to shelter in place Sunday night as police responded to a disturbance.
Just after 9 p.m., OPP issued a statement on social media asking people to avoid the area and for those at home, to remain indoors with doors and windows locked as police work to resolve the situation.
Police also asked that people avoid approaching strangers or, if driving through the area, avoid unnecessary stops or picking up hitchhikers.
About an hour later OPP reported that officers had responded to a break and enter at business in Bath and the suspect had fled on foot and the area was being searched.
There have been no other updates but OPP said further information will be released as it becomes available.
