The City of Quinte West says that construction for the Trenton trunk sewer project will begin in the Fraser Park area in downtown Trenton starting next week.
Parking spaces in the south section of the Fraser Park parking lot will not be available while work is completed in the area
The work is expected to begin on April 7 and continue until the late summer of 2026.
Parking spaces along the north part of this parking lot and access to Fraser Park and Fraser Park Drive will be maintained through the end of April.
A new trunk sewer is being installed in the west end of Trenton which the city says will support growth and increase water and sewer capacity for up to 5,000 new homes.
The new underground water and sewer main will extend from downtown Trenton to the west end of the city, including areas of:
- Fraser Park Drive
- Albert Street
- Creswell Drive
- Victoria Avenue
- Dufferin Avenue
- 2nd Dug Hill Road
- Highway 2
Work began in 2025 and is expected to continue until spring 2027.
