Central Hastings OPP have laid charges in an impaired-driving investigation.
Police say they received a report from a concerned citizen of a single-vehicle collision into the ditch on Crookston Rd. in Tweed on Friday at around 8:30 p.m.
Officers attended the scene and found a pickup truck on its side in the ditch.
Police say they also spotted empty beer cans near the vehicle, however, no occupants were found with the vehicle at the scene.
The driver was located at a home in Tweed.
The driver was arrested and transported to the Central Hastings Detachment for further testing.
Thirty-one-year-old Raymond Potter of Stirling-Rawdon was charged with the following:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on May 7, 2026.
Additionally, his driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and vehicle impounded for seven days.
