Prince Edward County OPP are holding their final scheduled “Officer in the Branch” event on Wednesday, March 25.
“Officer in the Branch” has been held in partnership with local banks.
The last session will take place at Scotiabank in Picton, running from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Residents are encouraged to stop by, say hello, and chat one-on-one with an OPP officer about fraud prevention, receive advice on current fraud trends, or ask questions related to common scams.
Throughout the initiative, officers have been available to provide practical advice on avoiding fraud schemes, including gift card frauds, grandparent scams, and phishing attempts, helping residents protect themselves and their finances in a familiar setting.
Members of the public are welcome to attend during regular banking hours – no appointment is required.
If you believe you’ve been targeted or have fallen victim to a scam, report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501 or online at www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca. You can also contact the Prince Edward County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
