Improvements are coming to Highway 62 North in Hastings Highlands.
“This project is a wonderful example of the importance of a positive relationship between the province and municipalities,” said Bresee. “I want to express my appreciation for the strong advocacy and excellent technical presentation by Mayor Tony Fitzgerald, CAO David Stewart, and their whole team. Together, we are making a difference for all the users of 62 North.”
“Highway 62 North is a critical route for families, workers and businesses in Hastings Highlands,” said Minister of Transportation Prabmeet Sarkaria. “Our government is rebuilding this highway to improve safety, strengthen this vital connection for local communities, and keep people and goods moving across eastern Ontario.”
The Mayor for Hastings Highlands added, “With this financial support from the Province, the Municipality can restore this regional transportation corridor to modern standards supporting both regional commerce and community resilience.”
Highway 62 North is a vital corridor connecting communities across eastern Ontario and serving as a key route for local residents, forestry operations, tourism, and goods movement.
