Prince Edward County is updating their election sign by-law, ahead of this fall’s coming election.
During Thursday’s committee of the whole meeting, council reviewed the proposed changes for the by-law.
Those changes include clarifying where signs can be placed, and clarifying that hate speech is not permitted on the signs.
While discussing the by-law, Mayor Steve Ferguson proposed a change to when signs can be put up, setting the start of when election signs can be placed at August 1. That amendment was passed.
The committee voted to approve the changes as amended and sent it on to council for final approval.
