Belleville City Council will be holding a special meeting on Monday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to noon with local members of parliament.
Council will speak with Bay of Quinte MP Chris Malette and Hastings–Lennox and Addington–Tyendinaga MP Shelby Kramp-Neuman to discuss several issues affecting Belleville.
These include the importance of consulting with the city on federal legislation, programs related to planning, development and other matters that impact municipal operations, housing and homelessness, Alto high-speed rail corridor, downloading of responsibilities, and opportunities for federal partnership on infrastructure and economic development projects.
Council will also be following up on previous resolutions and correspondence sent to federal offices that have not yet received a response.
The meeting can be viewed in person at council chambers or online at the city’s Youtube Channel.
