Hastings County Emergency Services Committee has recommended renewing funding for the HART hub.
During Wednesday’s meeting of the committee, they discussed funding for the partnership between Hastings Quinte Paramedic Services and the Homelessness and Addiction Recovery Treatment hub. Funding needs to be renewed periodically in order for the partnership to continue.
The partnership is funded at a rate of $800,053 which involves a proactive outreach unit that assists people experiencing homelessness with medical issues before they become emergencies, reducing pressure on frontline emergency services.
The recommendation was approved by the committee and sent to the next meeting of council for final approval.
