Belleville City Council approved a recommendation for a sandbagging unit at its meeting on Monday.
The recommendation calls for an amendment to the 2025 capital budget that would be funded by the Winter Control Reserve Fund in the amount of $38,500 for the purchase of the unit.
This in turn would reduce funding from the Community Emergency Preparedness Grant in the amount of $38,500.
Following some deliberation, council carried the motion.
