A Quinte West woman has been sentenced on charges of indignity to a dead body, as well as impaired driving and driving while prohibited, in separate incidents.
Shannon Brooks, 36 years old when charges were laid in May of last year, was sentenced recently.
She received a suspended sentence and 12 months of probation.
She had been in jail since her arrest. Other charges against her were withdrawn.
Quinte West OPP began investigations in August of 2024 following the death of a 49-year-old man on Westmount Court in Trenton’s west end.
