One male has died and another remains in life-threatening condition following a collision in Pickering.
On February 27, 2026 at approximately 8:05 p.m., members of Durham Regional Police West Division responded to a collision on Brock Road, north of Taunton Road. A Toyota sedan was travelling south on Brock Road when it lost control and entered the northbound lanes, colliding with a GMC pickup truck that was travelling north. The impact caused extensive damage to both vehicles.
An 18-year-old male passenger in the Toyota was pronounced deceased on scene. A 21-year-old male passenger was ejected from the vehicle, and was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre where he remains in life-threatening condition. A 58-year-old male passenger and 42-year-old female driver were transported to a local-area hospital and remain in stable condition.
The 56-year-old driver of the GMC pickup was assessed on scene and did not require further medical attention.
Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The area was closed for several hours while evidence was collected. This collision is still under investigation.
