On February 28, 2026 at 12:22 p.m., Belleville police received a report regarding a stolen vehicle.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., Belleville police located the suspect vehicle being driven in the city’s west end and successfully blocked it at an intersection, preventing it from continuing.
The driver of the vehicle attempted to punch an officer and fled on foot, initiating a brief foot pursuit.
The driver was taken into custody a short distance away.
Meanwhile, the passenger fled on foot in the opposite direction but was also taken into custody a short distance away.
During the arrest, officers discovered a BB gun in the passenger’s pocket.
As a result of investigation, the following persons were arrested and charged:
A 19-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:

Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

A 16-year-old Belleville man whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested and charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:
