Golden Hawks finish season strongly and local hockey roundup

It was a happy ending to a great regular season for the Trenton Golden Hawks Friday night.

In front of close to 700 fans the first-place G Hawks crushed the Aurora Tigers 8 to 1.

Trenton outshot Aurora 51 to 35 on the night.

First star Jack Ziliotto got 2 for the Golden Hawks. Other scorers were Taeo Artichuk, Jamie Darlison, Thomas Kuipers,
Becket Ewart, Joey Brehmer, and Preston Otting.

Trenton finished the season with 92 points, 11 up on the second-place Stouffville Spirit.

The Wellington Dukes finish their regular season tomorrow at home against the Lindsay Muskies at 7:30. Lindsay and Markham
are battling for the last playoff spot in the division and a playoff series with Trenton starting next weekend.

In Jr. C playoff action, the Frankford Huskies swept their series with Trent Hills with a 2 nothing win Friday.

Sunday night it’s Picton at Amherstview at 7:25 with the series tied at 2 games each.

In Northern Premier Hockey League playoff action it’s do or die Saturday for the Tweed Oil Kings, they’ll be in Smiths Falls at 7:30

Meanwhile the Deseronto Bulldogs will play host to Durham Saturday at 6:30 with the best of 5 tied at 1 game each.
