One person has been charged after a fatal vehicle accident last spring.
On April 27, 2025 just before 8:30 p.m., Central Hastings OPP officers responded to reports of a vehicle being driven erratically, westbound on Highway 7. Shortly afterward, the officers discovered a collision involving the reported vehicle and a motorcycle.
The 57-year-old motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
As a result of the investigation, 20-year-old Aleem Rahmtulla of Toronto was arrested and charged with dangerous operation causing death.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville in March.
