The City of Quinte West has announced that the Quinte West Medieval Madness festival has been crowned one of the Top 100 Festivals and Events in the province by Festivals and Events Ontario.
According to a release from the city, this award marks the sixth time a Quinte West event has earned provincial honours from FEO in the last four years.
The annual FEO Top 100 Awards program recognizes festivals and events across the province for their excellence in creativity, community engagement, and overall event experience.

The City of Quinte West is proud to announce that, after only its first year in the community, the Quinte West Medieval Madness festival has been crowned one of the Top 100 Festivals and Events in the province by Festivals and Events Ontario (FEO).
The annual FEO Top 100 Awards program recognizes festivals and events across the province for their excellence in creativity, community engagement, and overall event experience. As a Top 100 winner, Medieval Madness is in esteemed company among some of the province’s most widely-recognized festivals.
This award marks the sixth time a Quinte West event has earned provincial honours from FEO in the last four years. The 2026 Top 100 Awards were presented at FEO’s “Sustain” Conference Awards Gala in Kitchener, Ontario, on Wednesday evening.
“The City is honoured to have Medieval Madness recognized as one of the top festivals in the province,” says Rebecca Cotter, Manager of Communications and Community Engagement. “This recognition speaks to the quality of the community experiences planned by City staff, and the energy offered by the festival’s local partners, volunteers and attendees.”

Medieval Madness is the City’s newest signature festival, bringing Renaissance and fantasy flair to Quinte West. The free festival features medieval-themed historical reenactments, live demonstrations, interactive activities, a vendor village, delicious food options, and more!
Mark your calendar to join this year’s festival on Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Bob Wannamaker Amphitheatre in Centennial Park. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their favourite medieval, Renaissance or fantasy attire!
Exciting 2026 event announcement!
New this year, Medieval Madness will feature exciting live demonstrations by Jaclyn Ziemniak from Knight School Inc., one of Canada’s leading female full-contact jousters.
Back by popular demand, local medieval enthusiasts Blades of Glory return to deliver armoured combat demonstrations and interactive historical activities including captivating falconry displays.
