The provincial coroner’s office says an inquest will be held into the death of a 22-year-old man, who was shot by a police officer in Kingston.
Evan Freeman died on September 12, 2019, after he was shot by a police officer who attempted to arrest him.
The Special Investigations Unit later concluded that no criminal charges would be laid against the officer.
The coroner’s inquest jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths, and a date for the inquest has yet to be.

The Special Investigations Unit has identified the suspect in a double stabbing in Kingston this week.
The SIU has identified the man as 22-year-old Evan Freeman.
Freeman died following an interaction with Kingston police officers on Thursday September 12.
Officers were called the the intersection of Queen and Bagot Streets for a stabbing in progress.
A 40-year-old man also died and an 85-year-old man suffered critical injuries.
The SIU continues to investigate this incident.
