Intimate Partner Violence Arrest
A 32-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Sunday evening.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. on February 22, 2026, several 911 calls were received about a disturbance in the Stewart Street and Wolfe Street area in which a man had been threatening to kill a woman, throwing rocks at a window, kicking at a door, and trying to enter the home with a sword. Upon arrival, officers located a man matching the description given to police and ordered him to the ground. He was taken into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Utter threats
- Mischief under $5000
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, February 23,2026.
Assault Arrest
A 33-year-old Peterborough woman wanted on warrants is facing another charge after an incident Friday afternoon.
At approximately 2:50 p.m. on February 20, 2026, officers were called to an apartment in the Dublin Street and Aylmer Street area. Upon arrival, officers learned that a tenant had punched another tenant in the head and scratched their arm. It was further learned that the woman was wanted on warrants for assault with a weapon and fail to attend court after appearing.
As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested on the strength of the warrants and further charged with assault.
The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday court on February 21, 2026.
