More messy weather is on the way today that will likely make for a tricky afternoon commute.
The region is under a snowfall warning.
Meteorologist Kevin Williams expects snow, mixed with ice pellets, to arrive this afternoon and last into tonight.
“Accumulations will be greatest near the lake, 10-20 cm by midnight tonight. But those amounts will quickly taper to the north to about 5-10 cm along the 401 corridor with even lesser amounts farther to the north. Either way, there will be some slippery travel developing for the afternoon into tonight.”
Williams says there could be some patchy fog lingering as well.
Tri-Board buses are running today, however, STSCO has cancelled buses in its jurisdiction for the day (KPR, PVNC and MonAvenir schools in Northumberland County, Peterborough City and County and Clarington.)
Schools will remain open.
