The much-discussed roundtable involving members of Belleville City Council and local MPPs is set to take place on February 17.
Bay of Quinte MPP Tyler Allsopp and Hastings-Lennox and Addington MPP Ric Bresee will be in attendance for the roundtable.
In a release, the City of Belleville says the meeting will provide an opportunity for direct dialogue between council and local provincial representatives regarding legislation and policy decisions affecting municipalities, particularly those related to planning and development.
There is also set to be discussion on recent legislative changes and government programs connected to housing and homelessness, including funding levels and expectations related to homelessness supports, mental health services and primary care.
In addition, council is expected to raise concerns about costs and service responsibilities being downloaded to municipalities and will review outstanding correspondence and previous resolutions awaiting response.
The roundtable will take place in council chambers at 1 p.m.
It will be streamed live on the city’s YouTube channel.
