Hastings County is providing some funding to local childcare programs.
During Thursday’s meeting of Hastings County Council, the council reviewed a recommendation by the Community and Human Services Committee to provide funding for several childcare programs.
The funding is provided as part of a grant from the provincial government, with a $1.3 million allocation required to be used for childcare.
Family Space Quinte will receive $852,502, North Hastings Children’s Services will receive $338,295, and the Trenton Family Military Resource Centre will receive $162,381.
Additionally, $292,162 is set aside for Indigenous-led initiatives, which will go to the Algonquin Inodewiziwin Child and Family Centre, Indigenous-led initiative, Anishinaabe Baptiste Community Organization.
The childcare allocations were approved without debate.
