Cobourg Police Service (CPS) and Port Hope Police Service (PHPS), alongside Community Living & Respite Northumberland (Community Living), announce their continued partnership for the 2026 Cobourg/Port Hope Polar Plunge in support of Special Olympics Ontario.
On Sunday, March 22, at 11:00 a.m., plungers will brave the icy waters at the Cobourg Marina Boat Launch.
Local Special Olympics athletes, first responders, municipal staff, community leaders, and enthusiastic supporters will come together for a chilly but heart-warming event that celebrates community spirit and inclusion.
Last year’s event raised over $25,000, contributing to vital programming for more than 26,000 Special Olympics athletes across Ontario.
With strong community support year after year, organizers hope to match, or even exceed that impact in 2026.
Community members are encouraged to register, donate, or cheer from the sidelines as participants take the plunge and raise awareness for Special Olympics athletes who inspire with their passion, perseverance, and dedication.
