Hastings North Tourism Services is asking Hastings County for $30,000 in funding to create a destination tourism strategy.
During Wednesday’s Planning and Development Committee meeting, Hastings County Council heard a deputation from Mary Kavanaugh and Alan Woodcox from Hastings North Tourism Services, who made the case for the additional funding.
They said that the funds would go into hiring a professional staff member to work on a comprehensive four-season tourism marketing strategy, in an effort to stimulate the local economy.
Council received the deputation and deferred any decisions on funding until upcoming budget talks.
