Two people are facing charges after allegedly fleeing from police during a traffic stop in Campbellford last Thursday.
Northumberland OPP attempted to stop a vehicle being driven by a prohibited motorist just before 3 p.m.
Both the driver and passenger were wanted by police and fled on foot.
They were taken into custody shortly after by officers with assistance from members of the Peterborough-Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit.
A search yielded a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and ammunition.
Jeremy Richardson (45) of no fixed address, has been charged with:
- Flight from peace officer
- Fail to comply with probation order – two counts
- Operation while prohibited
Jennifer Bridges (45) of no fixed address, has been charged with:
- Possession of Schedule I substance – Methamphetamine
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
- Fail to comply with probation order
Both accused were held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg. The vehicle has been impounded for 45 days.
