The Wellington Dukes were able to come back in the third period to tie the game and send it to overtime, but in the end couldn’t find the one goal to get the victory.
The Dukes tied with the Pickering Panthers 4-4.
Wellington got things going in the first period with a powerplay goal from Sacha Trudel followed by a goal from Blake Berthiaume 9:36 and 13:14 into the first respectively.
Pickering then started a wave of four goals with Matt Indovina and Jake Mallory scoring 14:34 and 19:14 into the first period.
This was followed in the second period by another Jake Mallory goal, this time on the powerplay, and a late goal from Devon Ferroni.
Wellington was able to tie it up in the third with goals from Landon Marleau and Aiden Lee with 15 seconds of each other.
Neither team was able to find the back of the net in either overtime or double overtime.
There are no shootouts in the OJHL, leaving the contest in a stalemate.
The Dukes will head on the road on Monday to take on the Cobourg Cougars.
