One person is facing weapons charges following an incident on Notch Hill Road Monday evening.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., Kingston police responded to a residence regarding a report of an individual in distress who required assistance.
Members of the Patrol Division, along with the Emergency Response Unit, made contact with the individual.
In order to ensure the safety of the public, some residents within close proximity to the incident were evacuated in order to maintain their safety.
At approximately 12:30 a.m. on Monday the incident was resolved without issue, and the individual was transported to hospital to receive the care they required.
During the course of this incident, it was discovered that the individual was in possession of multiple firearms which were improperly and unsafely stored.
Upon receiving care from the hospital, the individual was charged with possession of weapons dangerous to the public peace, along with charges pertaining to the careless storage of firearms.
The individual was transported to Kingston police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
