Durham Regional Police say a male is in custody in connection with multiple armed robberies in Clarington and Bowmanville.
On December 13, 2025 at approximately 8:15 p.m., a male entered the Circle K located at 180 King Street East in Clarington and demanded cash while armed with two large knives.
On January 3, 2026 at approximately 6:10 p.m., the suspect entered the Liberty Best Variety located at 83 Liberty Street South in Bowmanville, and demanded cash while pointing a firearm at an employee.
On January 5, 2026 at approximately 8:50 p.m., the suspect reattended Liberty Best Variety and demanded cash while pointing a firearm at an employee. The suspect attempted to flee but was taken into custody a short distance away. The firearm was determined to be an imitation handgun.
No employees suffered any physical injuries.
A 15-year-old male from Clarington is charged with robbery x3, disguise with intent x3, point firearm x2, possess weapon for committing offence x3, and possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5000 x2.
He was held for a bail hearing.
