A familiar name in Stirling-Rawdon politics won’t be on the ballot in next year’s municipal election.
Mayor Bob Mullin tells Quinte News says he will pursue other interests at the end of 2026.
Mullin says the reason he first ran for council 15 years ago was the need for a change in how policing was handled in Stirling-Rawdon.
“It was an accomplishment, and more from a financial viewpoint than anything. We just couldn’t afford to continue with our own police force.”
Mullin adds another important project completed will allow for economic growth.
“I think getting the capacity in the lagoon finally completed, and getting the C of A (certificate of approval) that allows the town to finally grow was the second largest accomplishment.”
Bob Mullin served from 2010 until present day on Stirling-Rawdon council, including two terms as mayor. He’s also been the warden of Hastings County for the past four years.
