On Tuesday evening, when Wayne thought he would be on the ice honouring the final game of official Steven O’Reilly, the G-Hawks surprised Baril.
He became just the sixth person to enter the Trenton Golden Hawks Hall of Fame, joining the Huff family, John Gibbons, Doug Whitney, John Williams, and John McDonald.

Over his time connected to the team, he has travelled thousands of kilometres to road games, raised tens of thousands of dollars through the club’s 50/50, heckled referees with his rubber chickens, and banged his drum more passionately than anyone else could.
