Belleville police responded to 224 calls for service from 5 a.m. on December 12, 2025 to 5 a.m. on December 15, 2025.
Impaired Driver
On December 14, 2025 at 2:07 a.m., Belleville police received a report that a vehicle was stuck in a snowbank in the city’s east end. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a male who reported that he attended the area to assist after seeing the vehicle stuck in the snowbank.
He advised that he observed another male sitting in the driver’s seat exit the vehicle holding a beer can, and that the male walked away from the scene.
As a result of investigation, Nickolas Rittwage, a 25-year-old Deseronto man, was located, arrested and charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80mg.
He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in January.
Intimate Partner Violence
On December 14, 2025, Belleville police responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a reported assault. Upon arrival, officers learned that a male and a female had been involved in a verbal altercation. The altercation escalated and the female pushed the male into a wall, and the male grabbed the female by the throat.
As a result of investigation:
A 45-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with assault. He was held for a bail hearing.
A 50-year-old Belleville woman was arrested and charged with assault. She was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in February.
Trespassing
On December 15, 2025 at 12:50 a.m., Belleville police responded to a report of a disturbance at a business on North Front Street.
Upon arrival, officers learned that two males who were causing issues had left the area. A short distance away, police observed two males running from officers. The two were located as they were hopping a fence clearly marked with a “No Trespassing” sign.
As a result of investigation, the following persons were arrested and charged:
Keynen Battick, an 18-year-old Deseronto man, was charged with trespassing at night. He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in January.
A 35-year-old Tyendinaga man was charged with:
