While home sales and prices were lower on a national basis last month compared to November of last year, the results are mixed in the Quinte region’s major markets.
On a year-to-year basis, single-family home sales in Belleville held steady at 30 last month compared to 32 in November of 2024. Last month the median price, the price at which half of the sales were below and half above, of a house in Belleville was $510,000. The median price was $550,000 in 2024.
In Quinte West, 34 homes sold at a median price of $482,000. In November of last year there were 24 sales at a median price of $511,000.
In Prince Edward County only 14 houses were sold at a median price of $680,000.
A year ago, 32 homes changed hands. The median price then was $615,000.
And in Brighton, 13 single-family homes sold in November at a median price of $665,000.
A year ago there were 14 sales and the median price was $650,000.
The statistics are compiled by the Central Lakes Association of Realtors.
Across the country, home sales dropped almost 11 per cent in November from the same month a year ago while average prices declined two per cent.
